stress factors growing in number as conditions worsen. And just like a lethal weapon,
stress has the potential to kill you.

stress so that you might better recognize the factors that lead to various stressful
states. If you can become aware of these stress factors, you can take steps and make
healthier choices in your life to eliminate them and improve your health, wellness and

1.  Chemical Stress
Chemical stress can inhibit your body's energy source and vitality.  This form of
stress arises from putting toxic or unhealthy substances in to your body. This
can be accomplished with food, water contamination, air pollution, etc.
Remember also that your skin can easily absorb toxins from substances it
comes into contact with. And when was the last time you saw a prescription
drug with no "side effects"? There are many environmental elements, chemical
substances, and products on the market that inhibit the body's processes when
exposed to excessively. They are the culprits of many of today's major health
problems and disorders. Examples of such unhealthy substances which cause
    chemical stress are:
  • Sweets (sugar)
  • Processed food
  • Alcohol
  • Drugs
  • Fast food
  • Smoking
  • Drugs
  • Pharmaceutical drugs
  • Caffeine
  • Car exhaust fumes
  • Household/industrial chemicals

2.  Emotional Stress
Having emotions is a natural part of being a human being. We ALL have them
and have more than likely experienced a high emotional state at least once in
our lives. Expressing emotion is how the body can release feelings of stress and
tension. Emotional stress arises when you are not allowing your body to release
and let go of these feelings. It can limit your potential psychic and spiritual
power.  It arises from experiences which cause negative feelings of:
  • Fear
  • Jealousy
  • Insecurity
  • Anger
  • Loneliness
  • Resentment

3.  Physical Stress
Our bodies are amazingly resilient, self-healing machines. However, they are
also extremely vulnerable. Physical stress can lessen feelings or body centering
and balance. At times we tend to push ourselves to and beyond our physical
limits - at home, at work, and especially at play. If you do not allow your body
to manage and ease the physical stress and strain you place on it, you can
potentially cause serious damage in every system. Your body speaks a language
when it is out of balance - commonly referred to as "symptoms" or "warning
signs". Physical stress often causes warning signs such as:
  • Headaches
  • Anxiety
  • Neck & shoulder pain
  • Back pain
  • Tension
  • Phobias
  • Numbness
  • Sleep disorders
  • Digestive problems
